Blue after dark moonlight cruise2/3/2024 ![]() At least we would have been able to see something on the shoreline and people probably would have been less prone to near-fornication during the daylight. In hindsight, I wish we had taken the lunch or dinner cruise. It was overpriced for what you got, the environment and atmosphere were severely lacking and in reality, you couldn't see a darn thing on the shoreline for 80% of the trip. I'm sorry to say that this was the worst cruise experience I've ever been on. I've been on these types of cruises before and I've always enjoyed myself. Definitely not very high end or what you would expect for the type of cruise they advertised. Baila with us under the moonlight Great Stirup Cay Saturday, MaGreat Stirrup Cay is a paradise of white sand beaches, majestic coconut palms and clear blue waters where an abundance of fun is awaiting you. We didn't order any drinks and the snacks were popcorn, nachos and I think maybe hot dogs. We initially called the cruise the "Love Boat" but then changed it to the "Making Love Boat" to be more accurate. One couple had no inhibitions whatsoever and we feared that if the cruise lasted much longer that we would be watching a live sex show. Our group was embarrassed to be watching this go on and we were horrified to realize that all of the teenagers were still in view of them. What started out to be loosely described as 'dancing' morphed into 'grinding' the farther down the river we sailed. About halfway into the cruise, we discovered that there were several couples that were overly enthusiastic about the music and alcohol combination. We ended up going back to the upper deck and we sat as far away from the music as possible so we could still try to talk and enjoy the cruise. Both were over air-conditioned so there was no place to go to avoid being cold. They have an indoor room on each deck where the snacks are and we attempted to go in there to warm up. Bring a sweater or a blanket if you go on this cruise. Once it gets dark out on the river it gets very chilly. ![]() Many of the songs were clearly out of their league. The more they played the worse they got, unfortunately. I give them credit for playing a variety of music but most people can't sing both Prince and Johnny Cash well. The music was very loud and to be honest - not that great. Having a conversation with each other was impossible. (Where did they come from?!) The band started playing and we immediately could not hear anything. That area was filled with tables and chairs - which were quickly taken over by a massive hoard of teenagers. There was a three-man band set up there but no room for dancing that I could see. This cruise was NOTHING like that!! We sat on the upper deck, at a table by the railing, near the 'dance' area. It was advertised as "the perfect end to any evening!" I had visions of gently sailing along the river, looking at the lights on shore, sipping a glass of wine, talking to my friends and listening to background music. After reading the description of the "Moonlight Cruise" on the Savannah Riverboat website, I was very excited to include this as part of our trip.
